It's not worth swimming in Fontajau

The senior is forced to overcome Club Básquet Roser on Saturday (7 p.m.) to stay alive in the fight for a place in the promotion phase

Having overcome the last parenthesis of the season for Easter, the competition enters its decisive section. The Girona Básquet senior, third in the EBA CA group (15-7), receives Club Básquet Roser on Saturday (7 p.m.) with the obligation to win to continue aiming for one of the two places for the phase promotion to LEB Plata. Of course, they also need Vive El Masnou Basketball and Club Bàsquet Menorca to stumble since, with four games remaining, they have one win and a lost average .

The team led by Quim Costa is the most reliable home team in the category (10-1), although the last two triumphs in Fontajau have been hard fought. In both cases, against rivals from the lower area, as is Club Básquet Roser. It will be essential to put all five senses into it because, despite their background (leathers and 6-16), the Barcelona team have won two of the last three games and are on the rise. Largely due to the performance of Xavi Assalit, trained at La Penya and who made his ACB debut with Guipúscoa. The point guard, who did not play in the first round (61-71 for Girona), credits 14.9 points, 3 assists and 2.7 rebounds, and has injected solidity into a team making its debut in EBA and which, since beginning, he has a lot of trouble scoring (68.5 points, the worst offense) and rebounding (30.3). At home, it has a 2-9 record, with victories on not easy courts such as Mataró Parc Boet (71-77) and Aracena AEC Collblanc (72-75).

Admission is free, as throughout the season.
