Guillem Pascua (Figueres, 1989) started playing basketball in his hometown, growing up in the lower categories of CB Adepaf until reaching the first team. The last three seasons he had played for CB Salt, all in the EBA League. He studied Physical Education at the University of Girona and CAFE ( Sciences of Physical Activity and Sport) at the INEFC in Barcelona. Currently, he works as a teacher at the Empuriabrava high school. In the image, in front of the main facade of the Fontajau pavilion in Girona.  <\/span><\/p>\n

-What made you decide to sign for Basketball Girona?<\/p>\n

“After having played three very good seasons at Salt, forming a good group of players, at the end of last season, many of them decided to leave the team, either to quit basketball or change teams. At that time, I also decided to quit and return to Figueres. Once the decision was made, \u00c0lex [Formento] called me to make the proposal and I didn’t think twice about accepting it.”<\/em><\/p>\n

-The team was completely new, with players you had never played together. Why did it all work so fast? <\/p>\n

“I think the key to all of this is the human group that we form. We all get along very well, we spend many hours together, not only on the court, but we also get together for lunches or dinners and the occasional activity outside of basketball. And all these aspects are reflected on the track.”<\/em><\/p>\n

-Do you feel comfortable with the team’s style of play, preferably in the open field?<\/p>\n

“The truth is, yes. It’s a very happy type of game where all the players in the team play our part and have a leading role.”<\/em><\/p>\n

-How do you think you have evolved this season and what do you still need to polish?<\/p>\n

“With the style proposed by Quim, I think I have evolved in the tactical reading of game situations. A very different style to what I have been playing in recent years, where the team’s tactics were based on plays. D “on the other hand, I need to polish my defense. Although I think I have taken a step forward in some phases of the season, I could still improve a lot.”<\/em><\/p>\n

-We are in the final stretch. Can the team reach second place? <\/p>\n

“We have to focus on winning the three games we have left, which won’t be easy at all. From here, it’s not up to us to get to that second place. Regardless of how we finish in the standings, I think we will have had a great season. In the third week of August, we were twelve strangers who got together to form a team and, based on training and effort, we managed to reach the last days of the league with clear options to enter the promotion phases to LEB Plata”.<\/em><\/p>\n
