The senior team of B\u00e0squet Girona suffered their first defeat of the season in Fontajau this afternoon. The team led by Quim Costa has always trailed and ended up losing against Arenys B\u00e1squet Joventut (73-77), despite the proud reaction in the last quarter. From the beginning, the visitors took control of the situation although their advantages were very slim. It was from the second quarter and following a 0-11 halftime that the differences began to grow (23-33, 16′). The team was uncomfortable and couldn’t find a way to stop Joel Parra and Pol Molins (20 points between the two at halftime). On the way back to the dressing room, there was an intention to amend and, proof of this, greater defensive activity. But the own mistakes were frequent, the minutes passed and there was no way to recover ground. Coinciding with the start of the last quarter and -11 on the scoreboard (50-61), B\u00e0squet Girona gave the impression that it was finding a way to get involved in the game and, stifling the rival, it managed to take the lead, with Alzamora taking on the attack (62-61, 36′). The match resulted in a head-to-head end, in which the Maresmen were more effective, especially from the free kick. <\/p>\n
