With Fontajau as the protagonist for the debut and with the fans supporting, the Girona team did their best to achieve the goal. After 30 minutes with maximum equality, FIATC Girona managed to break the deadlock in the last five minutes of the match to obtain the first victory ( 87-75 ).

With the nerves of making their European debut, the match started with ups and downs: first with an 8-4 lead in our favor and quickly with Dinamo pressing to stop the Moncho shock (8-10). Both teams played their cards to close the first quarter with a tight 23-19. Dinamo, with Marks as the protagonist, used its artillery to impose its game, but the final three-pointers from Pep and Mac put Girona ahead (47-44).

Despite Geben’s good start (52-49), both teams stalled in attack, scoring little by little from the personal line. Shortly before the end of the quarter, Moncho designed a play that Mac completed to give a +2 (65-63). With everything to decide, the quarter stalled a bit until at the equator of the same N’Guessan and Jassel punished from long distance (78-71). N’Guessan’s defensive leadership and Whittaker’s offense increased the income to 10 points (83-73), finally achieving FIATC Girona its first victory in Europe by 87-75.

Historic victory for FIATC Girona in its European debut.
