Markel Brown, new signing for Bàsquet Girona

The American escort is the fourth addition for the 2023-24 season

DeMarious Markel Brown (Louisiana, USA, 1992) will be part of the Girona squad, directed by Salva Camps, next campaign. The 193 cm American escort arrives in Fontajau from Openjobmetis Varese, of the Italian first division.

Brown has extensive experience in his home country, having played 4 seasons in the NCAA with the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 3 in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets, and 4 more in the G-League. His career has also spanned Europe, where he has been part of Khimki Moscow (Russia), Hapoel Eliat (Israel), Telenet Giants (Belgium) and Openjobmetis Varese (Italy).

In this last season, the new player for Bàsquet Girona has scored 16.9 points, 4 rebounds and has distributed 3.2 assists in 29 regular league games.

The signing adds to the continuity of Jaume Sorolla, Èric Vila and Maxi Fjellerup and the arrivals of Stefan Đorđević, Juani Marcos and Ike Iroegbu. Quino Colom has a contract with the club.
