Básquet Girona beats Fuenlabrada at home, completing the best game of the season in the outside shot (75-83)

Today’s match was between two teams from the bottom of the table, but in different dynamics: Carplus Fuenlabrada accumulated 7 consecutive defeats, while Básquet Girona arrived after defeating Joventut de Badalona last Tuesday in Fontajau.

The inaccuracies have been protagonists at the beginning on both sides. Three triples by Quino, however, gave light to the Girona attack, which in the final minutes moved quickly and achieved the maximum advantage (+9) of the first quarter at the end.

The game took a turn in the second act, and the team from Fuenlabrada was able to cut off Girona’s scoring rhythm until they were only 2 points away for a few moments. The success of the Reds’ field goals was key to maintaining the lead at halftime with a score of 35-40. 

The home team’s exit from the dressing room was better and they managed to tie the game (45-45) in the first three minutes of the second half. Carplus Fuenlabrada took the lead, but Básquet Girona quickly regained control of the game, with a partial 0-12, after a time-out called by Aíto. 

With the 56-68 he faced the last time. The Fuenlabrada players fought again, getting close to 6 points, but it was not enough to prevent Basketball Girona from winning 75-83. 

The next match of the Girona team will be on Saturday January 14, at 6 pm, against Surne Bilbao Basket in Fontajau.
