'Aíto' García Reneses is the new coach of Bàsquet Girona

The Madrid coach will lead the first team in the ACB premiere

Alejandro ‘Aíto’ García Reneses (Madrid, 1946) is the new coach of the Bàsquet Girona first team. García Reneses, with extensive experience in state and European basketball, becomes the top representative of the technical team in the club’s debut season in the elite.

‘Aíto’ García Reneses has an extensive career on state benches with a European route. In the 2013-14 season, he played over a thousand games as a coach in the ACB (1,077 in total). During his long journey he has coached at FC Barcelona (14 seasons), Club Joventut de Badalona (7), Club Baloncesto Málaga (3), Club Baloncesto Sevilla (2) and Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria (2).

His last European experience was at the German ALBA Berlin (2017-21), which competed in the Euroleague, where he won one edition of the German Cup and twice the Bundesliga (German first division).

The technical organization chart that will accompany ‘Aíto’ García Reneses in Bàsquet Girona’s debut season in the elite will be configured in the coming days.
