After the competitive premiere of 2022, Básquet Girona will play its second match in seven days in the Barris Nord de Lleida this Thursday, January 20 (8:00 p.m., Esport3). The match against the team from Lleida will be the first Catalan derby of the season and will coincide with the anniversary of the first Girona-Lleida in the LEB Or.

Força Lleida is headed in the technical direction by Gerard Encuentra, a newcomer in the category, who is the main architect of the good dynamics of the Segrià team, the third team with the most victories in the category (9). The highlight of the roster is Michael Carrera, who leads the team in points (18.3) and rebounds (7.3) averages thanks to his physicality, which allows him to be powerful off the balance and shooting from half distance

The management is in charge of the experienced Thomas Schreiner, the perimeter by the athletic North American debutant in the category Mark Hughes -second highest scorer of the team- and the inside game by the imposing physique of Shaquille O’Neal and the Barcelona singer Ibou Badji. The match will also mark the debut of Argentine baseman Juanmi Marcos, from Barça, while Girona’s Fjellerup will not be able to wear shorts due to current regulations.
