Reunion in Fontajau

Bàsquet Girona and CB Prat will face each other again for the third time in just over fifteen days

| Tuesday, 12 October 2021

Eleven days after Girona’s victory in Fontajau in the final of the Catalan League LEB Or, Bàsquet Girona and Club Bàsquet Prat will reproduce the confrontation in the first competitive meeting of the two teams in the second category on Wednesday, October 13 (8:00 p.m.). The home team will arrive at the meeting having added the first victory of the season in the league while the visiting team will be chasing it after having fallen on the opening day.

CB Prat, which regained the category last season after spending two seasons in LEB Plata, has put together a squad led by Josep Maria Berrocal with a significant representation of young talents such as Arnau Parrado, on loan from La Penya, who has already made his debut with the first team from Badalón. From last season, aside from Parrado, the experienced Marc Blanch, Adrià Domènech, Kriss Helmanis, Yannick Kraag and Zsombor Maronka are still at the potablava club. In the direction of the game they have bet on former Girona player Sergi Costa, who will return to the category after competing in Iberostar Palma in the 2017/18 season before ending up at Bàsquet Girona.

Pre-match statements:

Carles Marco: “We must try to play well, close to the basket and be accurate. Try in the first game at home, in front of our people, to start hooking them trying to play the best possible game and that happens to win.”

Gerard Sevillano: “I think it will be a different game, but the fact that we played against them plays in our favor because we know each other, we know how they play and which players they have. This should serve us to be aware of the things we did well and not so well to be able to get a victory.”
