Básquet Girona will play the second final of the Catalan League, the first of LEB OR, on Saturday at the 1R Octubre de Balaguer pavilion against IGC Força Lleida (18:05). The match against the team from Lleida, whom the team beat in the second pre-season game (81-75), is the first of the official season before raising the curtain on the LEB Or on Sunday 18 October in Fontajau .

The two teams will meet again three weeks later with similar feelings during the preparation with solvent victories against LEB Gold and LEB Plata teams. “Perhaps they will have more of a competitive pace but we have both trained and, from our point of view, we have worked very well and we plan on the first official match with the aim of competing and taking home a title” comments Carles Marco in the preview. The team from Lleida stands out for having a squad with a physical and imposing internal composition, with names such as Marcus V. Toledo, Michael Buchanan, Lucas N’Guessan or ex-Gironi Antonio Hester.

“With great desire, as is logical. Yes, it is true that Lleida played strong games after the confrontation in Banyoles. On the other hand, we haven’t played for two weeks, although that doesn’t mean that we have trained and competed with each other and have been improving. It will be a different game.”

Now it is still different but with the anxiety of winning a title that many of us have not achieved and the club has not yet won the LEB Or.
