The road passes through L'Hospitalet

The senior is looking for a victory on Saturday at the Aracena AEC Collblanc track (7 p.m.) that will allow him to continue in the race for the promotion phase

A demanding new test for the Girona Basketball seniors, who travel to the Aracena AEC Collblanc court on Saturday (7 p.m.). The team led by Quim Costa knows that they must take the victory if they want to stay alive in the race to obtain one of the two tickets for the promotion phase to LEB Plata. With three days left in the regular season in EBA’s CA group, the margin for error is minimal. It is third with a 16-7 record, one win away and the average lost compared to the first two, Vive El Masnou Basketball and Club Bàsquet Menorca.

The Girona team, who have won three games, have made a reappearance of the vertical and colorful game that has taken them to the top positions since the beginning of the championship. However, those from l’Hospitalet are very fearsome at the Fum d’Estampa sports complex, where, among others, Vive El Masnou Basketball and Club Básquet Menorca have given up. In fact, their bad start to the season has conditioned them a lot and deprived them of fighting to go up to LEB Plata this year. The team led by Josep Maria Marsà, fifth (14-9), has up to five players with double figures in scoring. The American Edson Ávila is the one who scores more (12.9 points) and completes it with 6.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks. In the first round in Fontajau, Basketball Girona won by 82-72.
