Weekend with four victories

These are the chronicles  of the five matches played by the CEB Marc Gasol teams this weekend, with Junior A without an official match:

Infantil B returns with victory
The Girona team won 52-78 on the FD Cassanenc court in a match in which the Infantil B improved on the irregular start of the match. Especially in the second half when CEB Marc Gasol increased the intensity to widen the differences on the scoreboard. Alex Adsuar and Llorenç Costa could not play any minutes due to injury.

The Infantil A clearly wins in Andorra
The team led by Albert Roca and David Fernández achieved a victory in their visit to the Morabanc Andorra court (23-74). The Gironans were superior to the Andorrans and the differences gradually widened.

Cadet B triumph in Calella
Cadet B played an even first half in which the score at halftime was 33-35 and Calella’s three-point shooting was high.  In the second half, the Girona team had control of the game, controlling the rebound and overcoming the zonal defense through outside shooting and ended up winning 52-70. Marc Xargay has strengthened Cadet B with the absences due to injury of Biel Espunya and Miquel Vallès.

Cadet A wins over Cornellà
The Girona team defeated Montfalgars at CB Cornellà (78-59) in a match in which the Cadet A team began to gain the first considerable differences in the second quarter, with a twelve-point advantage. From then on, the Girona players gradually widened the differences until they obtained the final victory. Marc Xargay could not play a single minute due to indisposition.

Junior B falls to UE Mataró
The team led by Andreu Comas and Sergi Juanola suffered another defeat, this time against UE Mataró (50-63). The Girona team trailed for the entire game until a 0-10 run, with just over three minutes left in the third quarter and with the score 39-41, was decisive. Junior B tried to reduce the deficit but the visitors’ high three-point success prevented it. Aniol Quintana could not play any minutes due to an injury.  Guillem Cuadrado reinforced Junior B.
