Spar Girona already knows its rivals for the 2025-26 EuroLeague Women

Girona Basketball will debut in Fontajau on October 8 against Gdynia .

Spar Girona has been placed in Group A of the regular phase of the EuroLeague Women 2025-26, according to the draw held this Wednesday, July 23 in Munich (Germany). The top continental competition will start next October with a total of 16 teams divided into two groups.

After being included in Pot 2, the Girona team will face the reigning EuroLeague champion, ZVVZ USK Praha; the Polish VBW Gdynia, and the winner of the previous round between the French Tango Bourges and the Lithuanian Kibirkstis.

The top three teams in each group will advance to the next round, while the last team in each group will play in the round of 32 of the EuroCup Women.

“The satisfaction after the draw does not come so much for the group or the teams that have been drawn, but for seeing the name of Spar Girona again in a new edition of the EuroLeague Women.

If I had to define the group, I wouldn’t do it so much for the squads, which are still being prepared, but for the historical weight of the clubs. ZVVZ USK Praha is the current champion and already has two Euroleague titles. VBW Gdynia returns to the competition after a few years, but is a team with two runner-up finishes. And Bourges is a classic of French basketball, with three EuroLeague titles.

We are also particularly excited about the possible clash with Kibirkstis, as Labuckiene plays there, and it would be great to see her again in Fontajau.”
