Tomorrow, the Pavelló de Fontajau pavilion will experience a new day of basketball with a double date. In the morning (12:00), it will be the turn of Bàsquet Girona, who will face Dreamland Gran Canaria , and in the afternoon (6:10 p.m.), Spar Girona will take over against Kutxabank Araski , in a match corresponding to the fourth day of the Endesa Women’s League.
Spar comes to the duel after a very positive week, with two consecutive victories: first on the court of Club Joventut Badalona ( 64 to 71 ) and later in Fontajau against Tango Bourges Basket ( 92 to 62 ) in the EuroLeague Women . With this balance, the Girona team has a 3-0 lead in the LF Endesa and maintains good feelings both in attack and defense.

Kutxabank Araski faces the match with a record of 2 to 1 and is in tenth place in the league. In the last matchday they fell to an always demanding court like Baxi Ferrol by 69 to 62, in a match that was contested until the end.
Among their offensive references, the trident formed by Jourdain (power forward), who averages 12.7 points, 8.3 rebounds and 15.7 rating; Lahtinen (guard), with 10.3 points and 3.7 assists; and Hill (guard), with 9.7 points per game. One of the weak points of the Basque team has been, so far, the accuracy from the three-point range, with 23.5% in three-point shots.
Roberto Íñiguez highlighted that “they are playing very well and with a lot of confidence. The victories have given them belief in what they are doing and the results show that they are a team in shape: winning Avenida and Gernika and losing in extra time to Ferrol, given how difficult it is to play there”. For this reason, the coach has called for “maximum tension” in a “high-level match”, warning that “we may find different fives on the court, with foreign players and who have good chemistry”.
The Girona coach highlighted that “it is a team, as always with Made Urieta, dynamic and that wants to run. Score in the first seconds or stop and play, which they also know. It is a complicated team”. Regarding the preparation for the duel, Íñiguez explained that “on Friday we did a more in-depth training, with more load, thinking about our situations where we can improve more, and today we talked more about Araski, about very simple and very clear concepts”. In this sense, he added that “we want to defend well the things that we consider really important and that will help us improve, adding little things game after game to the team’s defensive baggage”.
