Nikola Maric (Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina; 19/12/1998) renews for another season with Bàsquet Girona. The Bosnian center, who is 2.06 meters tall, arrived from KK Igokea, a team with which he had played the last few seasons in the Adriatic League.

Maric began his career in the world of basketball at KK Leotar Trebinje. Later, he played two seasons in the lower categories of Joventut de Badalona (cadet and junior), before signing for Baloncesto Fuenlabrada, where he competed with the junior team and the reserve team in the EBA League. Later, he joined the MoraBanc Andorra reserve team for two seasons and made his debut in the ACB League in the 2016/2017 season, in a match against Valencia Basket.

This season, in the 20 games he has played with the Girona team, he has averaged 7.1 points and 3.2 rebounds in almost 12 minutes of play per game.

Statements from Fernando San Emeterio, sports director

“We are very happy to announce the renewal of Nikola Maric. From the first moment he arrived in Girona, we believe that he has fit perfectly into both the club and the city. He is also an example of everything we want: a player who works very hard on a daily basis and who always tries to improve, in addition to being an excellent teammate and an excellent person. For all this, and also for the performance he brings to us, we have decided to renew him. I believe it is a very important move for next season.”
