Defeat on university territory

A great command of the offensive rebound is not enough to compensate for the lack of outside shooting in key moments (86-75)

The match started with a very serious Bàsquet Girona team , taking the first profits (4-9) thanks to the direction and points of Needham . However, the stellar appearance of Jonas Radebaugh turned the dynamic around; the Murcian winger showed an infallible wrist with a 3/3 in three-pointers that promoted an 11-2 run for the locals. The Girona team knew how to suffer and closed the first act with a tie at 18, maintaining the pulse also in the second quarter. With a 2-10 run led by Geben (6 consecutive points), Girona took the lead again (25-26). The dominance under the hoop was overwhelming: in the 15th minute, the visitors had 12 offensive rebounds to only 9 total for Murcia. But again, Radebaugh, with his fifth three-pointer, punished the Girona team to go into halftime with a home advantage (37-33).

In the second half, the scenario became more complicated with an initial 8-0 run for UCAM Murcia that opened a ten-point gap (55-45). Bàsquet Girona entered a scoring drought, scoring only 4 points in 5 minutes, until Karnik emerged to provide oxygen; with 8 points and a great rating in this period, he allowed them to close the gap (57-52). Despite the effort, a new 10-2 run once again punished Girona’s morale before the last quarter. In the final stretch, the team emptied itself to re-enter the game and fell to just six points (75-69), but the lack of success from the perimeter —closing the duel with only four converted three-pointers— prevented the comeback from culminating. Finally, Murcia sealed the victory with an 86-75 score that penalized Girona for being too irregular in their shooting.
