Roberto Íñiguez will continue at the helm of Spar Girona in the 2026-2027 season

The coach signs for one more season.

Bàsquet Girona has closed the renewal of Roberto Íñiguez for the Spar Girona team. The Basque coach will continue at the head of the bench after sealing a great 2025-2026 season, in which Spar Girona has exhibited one of the most solvent and recognizable games in the league, reaching second place in the regular season and finishing, for the first time, among the four best teams in Europe.

With a long history of leading major projects, Íñiguez has established himself as a leading coach in Europe. Throughout his career, he has managed teams such as Ros Casares, Fenerbahçe Istanbul, Nadezhda Orenburg, Sopron Basket, Dynamo Kursk, Perfumerías Avenida, Çukurova Basketbol and Spar Girona, achieving outstanding results in all the competitions in which he has participated.

His track record speaks for itself: 1 EuroLeague Women, 4 Spanish Leagues, 1 Spanish Cup and 1 Spanish Super Cup, 1 Turkish League, 2 Turkish President’s Cups, 2 Hungarian Leagues, 1 Hungarian Cup and 1 Russian Cup. In addition, during all these years he has been recognized as Coach of the Year in several European leagues.
