Iyana Martín, first addition to Spar Girona
The National MVP of the LF Endesa signs for two seasons.

Iyana Martín Carrión (Oviedo; 18/01/2006) is a new player for Spar Girona for the next two seasons. The 1.76-meter-tall center comes from Perfumerías Avenida, where she has established herself as one of the most spectacular and decisive players in the competition.
Trained in the 21st Century program, Martín has played for the Salamanca team for the last two seasons. This last year she had a great campaign that led her to be elected National MVP of the LF Endesa, a member of the Ideal Five of the season and one of the three finalists for the league’s absolute MVP award. Her records were 14.3 points, 4.6 assists and an average rating of 13.8 per game.
In the 2024/25 season she debuted in the EuroLeague Women, winning the Young Player of the Year award, while this past season she competed in the EuroCup Women with an average of 12.5 points per game.
Furthermore, her talent has not gone unnoticed in the United States, where she was selected in the 7th position of the 2026 WNBA Draft by the Portland Fire.
A collector of successes with the national team
Iyana Martín has been the leader of a golden generation in the lower categories of the Spanish national team. Her list of achievements includes two world runner-up finishes (U17 in 2022 and U19 in 2023). Individually, she was crowned MVP of the U19 World Cup (2023) and MVP of the U16 European Championship (2022). She is currently a fixture in the senior national team, with whom she won the silver medal at EuroBasket 2025.
With her arrival, Spar Girona incorporates one of the most important national talents of recent years. A player with great creative and scoring ability who will bring imbalance and vision of the game to the team’s scheme. With this move, Bàsquet Girona continues to define its sporting project, with Iyana Martín being one of the central pieces of the new squad.
