Formed at TKM Włocławek until the 2013–14 season, he later played one season at Estudiantes before joining Real Betis Energía Plus in the 2015–16 season. On 27 November 2016, he became the youngest player to debut for the Andalusian team in the ACB League, at 16 years, 5 months and 24 days, surpassing the record of Leo Cizmic. He is currently still among the youngest players to have debuted in the competition. In October 2018, he was loaned to COB, of the LEB Or, to cover the long-term absence of Pol Molins, and remained there until the end of the 2019–20 season.

In the 2020-21 season, he returned to Poland to play for Anwil Wloclawek, before playing for Enea Astoria Bydgoszcz, Trefl Sopot and Asseco Arka Gdynia. He has played for Legia Warszawa for the last two seasons. In the last campaign, he played in 28 regular league games, averaging 12.8 points, 2.1 rebounds and 6.4 assists, for a rating of 13. This performance earned him the distinction of Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the regular phase of the ORLEN Basket Liga, a recognition granted by the coaches of the clubs in the competition.

Pluta was also one of the protagonists of the Polish league play-off, in which Legia Warszawa was proclaimed champion after winning the final series 4-3. The Polish guard was chosen MVP of the finals after recording 15 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds in the decisive game. His most outstanding performance, however, came in the second game of the series, when he scored 27 points and distributed 9 assists.

He has also competed in the Basketball Champions League (BCL) with Legia Warszawa this season. In the six games he played in the European competition, he averaged 15.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 5.3 assists, with an average rating of 12.7.
