Espai Gironès renews support for women's basketball with a new agreement

The objective is to continue adding synergies in favor of the leadership of Girona and regional sports.

Espai Gironès and Bàsquet Girona have signed a new collaboration agreement to reaffirm the shopping center’s commitment to women’s basketball in the city of Girona and continue to add synergies in favor of the leadership of Girona sports and the territory. For fourteen years, Espai Gironès has collaborated with Uni Girona and in 2025 renewed its support for the team through Bàsquet Girona. With this year’s new agreement, Espai Gironès has completed sixteen seasons of uninterrupted support for women’s basketball, reaffirming its commitment to sports in the city and helping to achieve its leadership and its good positioning as a leading team.

As part of this agreement, Espai Gironès will once again have prominent visibility both in the women’s team’s playing equipment and in advertising on the pitch at the Fontajau pavilion, as well as in the club’s institutional communication, among others. It also includes the possibility of organizing joint events at Espai Gironès with the participation of the first team players, in addition to other actions that will be finalized during the season.

The signing of the agreement took place at the Fontajau pavilion in Girona, and was attended by the club’s Executive Director, Stefi Batlle, and the manager of Espai Gironès, Pau Jordà.

“Continuing the alliance with Espai Gironès is a source of pride and a clear reflection of the solidity of our project. We have been walking hand in hand for many years and sharing the same values ​​of work, effort and roots in the Girona regions. We deeply appreciate their loyalty and that they continue to strongly support women’s basketball and Spar Girona. We are sure that this joint path will continue to bring us great successes and joy in Fontajau for the new season”, highlighted Stefi Batlle, CEO of the club.

For his part, Pau Jordà, manager of Espai Gironès, values ​​the agreement as “continuing support for a key project for our territory” and highlights that “we are mirrored in the values ​​of work, effort, excellence and roots in the club’s territory, which fill us with pride. As always, we hope that it will bring many successes to the people of Girona in this coming season”.

Espai Gironès collaborates with a large number of actions aimed at the population of its surroundings, in addition to carrying out collaboration agreements with different sports entities. This action is framed within this context of commitment to the territory and its inhabitants, who also give constant support and are committed to Espai Gironès as a reference shopping center.

The Espai Gironès, which opened its doors on May 25, 2005 on Camí dels Carlins in Pla de Salt and located very close to the southern exit of the motorway, was the first center of its kind in the Girona region. It directly employs more than a thousand people and indirectly employs around 2,500 more people.
