FIATC Girona kicks off the Endesa League this Sunday (5:00 p.m.) in Fontajau on the first day of the championship. The team coached by Moncho Fernández will face an always demanding UCAM Murcia in what will be the first official test of the season.
The Girona team closes the preparation after signing a victory in the last pre-season test against iLERNA Lleida. Despite the losses that have marked the last few weeks, the group faces the debut with the desire to show a clear line from the first minute. Moncho Fernández has admitted that the team is still in the process of growth: “We are far from the level we would like to start, but if we don’t have all the weapons, we will have the spirit and desire to do well” . To complete the list for Sunday, the coaching staff will add players from the U22 team.
A consolidated rival in the Endesa League
UCAM Murcia lands in Girona maintaining the competitive block of the last campaigns and with the presence of the former Girona player Juani Marcos. The FIATC Girona coach has warned of the difficulty of a rival with a lot of talent and the importance of making the court factor count: “In Fontajau we have always had a magnificent atmosphere; the people give us warmth and I hope we find the same support as always” .
