The Girona Basketball senior is traveling by plane this afternoon to Seville, where tomorrow Saturday he will visit the Aceitunas Fragata Morón court (6 p.m.). With David Cuéllar already recovered from the gastroenteritis that prevented him from playing last weekend, the team led by Quim Costa wants to consolidate its line away from Fontajau, where it has not yet lost this year, and stay in the area leader of the East group of LEB Plata. He is now third, with 3-1.

The current one is the Sevillian club’s fourth season in the category and, in all the previous ones, it has contested the play-off . He arrives at the meeting with a balanced record (2-2), after two consecutive victories. The last, of great merit on the track of Real Murcia, who broke their unbeaten streak (58-69). Pepe Carrión, who replaced Rafa Rufián on the bench in the summer, leads an almost completely renewed squad. Only three pieces from last season remain, although two of them are essential in the schemes of the new coach. It is about the base José Antonio Marco (9.3 points and 4.3 assists) and the winger Taylor Cameron (13.3 points with 55% in triples). The bulk of the minutes so far have been shared between the two of them and four of the new additions: outsiders Tanner Omlid and Kedar Wright, both from the NCAA, and centers Jon Ander Aramburu (Ávila, LEB Plata) and Brandon Sebirumbi , coming from Australian basketball. Traditionally, Aceitunas Fragata Morón have been a very rocky team on their court. For example, last year he credited a 13-2. Leo Cizmic, who spent the 2016/17 season on loan from Betis, knows this well.

*Quim Costa’s assessment:

“The priority is to recover the line that we didn’t have last Saturday, especially in the first half. Doing that will give us more chances of victory. We have to worry now mainly about that and not so much about medium-term goals, like if we’re in the top six”

“We will find a small track, with a lot of atmosphere and feeling of pressure. We must be attentive to the communication between us and the situations raised to understand each other. El Morón is a team that pivots around a base[José Antonio Marco] and, from there, they have exteriors with good shooting and a very balanced interior game, capable of shooting threes and also playing in the low post”
