Àlex Formento will remain in charge of the senior team

He will combine the functions of coach and sports director

This morning, Àlex Formento has formalized his continuity as coach of the senior team in a press conference in Fontajau. Formento has made a positive assessment of the club’s first season in LEB Plata. Then, he confirmed the follow-up in the position after he took over from Joaquim Costa.

Àlex Formento, club man, has been linked to the organization since its creation five years ago. First at grassroots and then with the addition of the senior team in 2017, first as sporting director and then as sporting director and head coach.  

*Alex Formento’s assessment:

“The general assessment of the season is positive. We took into account that it was our first year, that we had little time to make the squad and that it had a profile to stay in the category with young players”

“As sports director, in recent seasons I have made a squad adapted to the needs of Quim Costa’s basketball. From now on it will be my turn to make a group based on what I propose, which is a style similar to Quim’s”

“The main factor that has triggered my continuity is my satisfaction. The situation was difficult and new and I felt good about it. When the club presents me with the possibility of keeping the position, I see myself with confidence to continue”
