Básquet Girona and Uni Girona present their joint women's grassroots project

Básquet Girona and Uni Girona have this afternoon presented their women’s grassroots project at the Ramon Sitjà pavilion in Girona. The event was chaired by Marc Gasol, Cayetano Pérez and Laia Palau together with the two top sports representatives of the initiative, Pere Puig and Jesús Escosa. Básquet Girona Uni Laia Palau, the women’s branch of the base structure of Básquet Girona, will have the experience and know-how of Uni Girona, with more than a decade of experience in elite women’s basketball .

Marc Gasol: “We were very clear that doing this project was a great choice for both clubs. We are happy and grateful to start a female training project.”

Cayetano Pérez: “All our players will have the same equality and methodologies as the boys.”

Laia Palau: “Presentation event and it’s full. It’s a positive social response. If there’s one word that defines this, it’s the illusion we all have.”
