Bàsquet Girona competed head-to-head against Real Madrid in an intense and hard-fought match in Fontajau. The first minutes were dominated by the visiting team’s three-pointers, but a good defensive reaction from the Girona team allowed them to turn the score around with a 13-0 run. At the end of the first quarter, the Girona team was leading the score, but Real Madrid’s outside shot re-balanced the match at the start of the second period. Despite the good defensive work, the home team went into the break with a five-point deficit (29-34).

In the second half, three consecutive three-pointers from Musa, who finished the quarter with 5/6 in three-pointers, slowed down Bàsquet Girona’s comeback attempts. Yves Pons, with a three-pointer, set Fontajau on fire, but the whites’ outside success made the score 53-61 at the start of the final quarter.

In the last ten minutes, Bàsquet Girona, led by Juani Marcos (5 points in two minutes), reduced the difference to a tie (63-63). Despite the home push, Real Madrid managed to maintain the advantage with a final set that decided the match (71-79).
