Cadet A obtains permanence in Preferent

These are the chronicles of the five matches played this weekend by the CEB Marc Gasol teams, except for Infantil A which has already finished the official competition:

League champions
The Infantil B team won 54-48 over Unió Girona in the match played in Montfalgars. A very even match between the two sets and which reflected a 30-23 half-time score. The visitors did not lower the intensity and until the last minute of the game they kept the options to take the victory. With this victory, the team led by Arnau Sacot and Marc Costa is proclaimed league champion with one day left to play.

Defeat to close the regular season
Cadet B closed the regular league with a 65-61 defeat in La Garriga. A match in which the Girona team scored an initial 22-8. Cadet B gradually reduced the distances on the scoreboard to face a tight final period in which the locals were more successful. With this result, the Girona finish in second place with ten wins and four losses.

Cadet B has lost Adrià Gussinyer and Miquel Camprubí, who played with Junior B, and the injured Gerard Portas and Miquel Vallès. Children Adrià Moncanut, Gerard Morales, Joel Gordils, Ricard Noguer and Isaac Llinàs reinforced the team.

They achieve permanence in Preferent
The Girona team achieved permanence after winning 61-85 against CB Sant Josep de Badalona in a match in which the Cadet A team gradually widened the distances until they were able to certify the Preferred category. The Girona players showed great intensity throughout the forty minutes of the game. We must remember that in the first leg the result had been 59-49 in favor of CEB Marc Gasol.

Junior B falls to Lleida
The Girona team lost 69-42 in their visit to the Torrons Vicens Força Lleida CE B court, corresponding to the penultimate day of the league. The Girona players, who lost 46-17 at halftime, increased the intensity in the second half and made a partial 25-23. Junior B had the reinforcements of Adrià Cabanilles, Miquel Camprubí and Adrià Gussinyer to cover the injuries of Oriol Adán and Aniol Quintana.

They take advantage in the playoffs
Junior A won 46-60 in the first leg of the quarterfinals of the Interterritorial Championship. A very intense match in which the Girona team had a twenty-point lead, but the locals were able to reduce it. Guillem Dubé was unable to play a single minute as he is still out of action. This Sunday in Montfalgars it will be decided which of the two teams will enter the Final four that will take place on May 29 in Artesa de Segre.
