Complicated movement

Girona Basketball will play tomorrow on the Isover Basket Azuqueca court (6:15 p.m.) with the clear intention of taking home a victory that would lead to the second phase

With the mathematical classification in their pocket to be part of the promotion group, Básquet Girona wants to win the maximum possible number of victories to face the second phase with a good cushion compared to their opponents. To do so, the first stone to overcome will be the Guadalajara team.

Azuqueca are sixth in the league and, although they would also be part of the promotion group right now, Sergio Vicente’s side need wins to secure a place among the top teams in LEB Plata – two ahead victories his pursuers -.

The La Mancha team has a good record as a home team (6 wins and 3 losses) and the matches played at the Polideportivo Municipal La Paz are high-scoring – Azuqueca scores 75 points on average and concedes 72 –, so the Girona team will have to be prepared to stop the threats of a rival that was already capable of taking the victory in Fontajau (62 – 66).

Although Jeffrey Solarin (11’4 points, 8’8 rebounds and 16’4 rating) is the one who stands out the most in the statistical section, one of the virtues of Castilla – La Mancha is that everyone contributes. No one plays less than twelve minutes per game and, in the first round matchup, all Azuqueca players scored four or more points.

*Quim Costa rating:

I hope that in Saturday’s game we will show that we are more and more a team, in the first leg we lacked success in certain actions and a bit of luck. We don’t want to have a 0-2 with them”.

“They have very good outside players in one on one and physical power in the inside game. It will be a difficult game.”
