In the first quarter, Real Madrid started at a very high pace, scoring twenty points in just over twenty minutes. Bàsquet Girona managed not to give up, defending better and passing the ball, finding free shots to get to two points (24-22) a disadvantage that has widened to six points in the last two Madrid attacks. In the second period, the scoring volume continued to increase with a particularly active production from the outside shot, with five three-pointers in nine attempts by the locals and six three-pointers in eight attempts by the Girona team, who managed to tie the score (35-35). Although in the final stretch they were five points behind, Madrid finished better, putting the advantage at +10 with a ten-rebound difference, one of the keys to the first half (59-49).
