The senior team from Basketball Girona closed this afternoon their first season in the CA group of the EBA League. He was unable to do so with a victory because he fell in the Girona derby against CB Quart Germans Cruz (70-61). In any case, the team led by Quim Costa has finished in third position (17-9) and has been fighting to access the promotion phase to LEB Plata until the last days.

The locals had to win to avoid relegation and they came out very active, with the reinforcement of the majority support of the public in the stands. They immediately took the initiative on the scoreboard and, at halftime, dominated by 42-30, largely due to the success from the three-pointer (9/17 in the first two quarters).  On the way back from the dressing room, the Girona team increased the intensity and pressure on the ball. This has allowed them to get closer and arrive with chances of victory in the final stretch (62-56 with 3:55 to go). But he couldn’t get it.
