Kosner Baskonia started with better energy and accuracy with an initial 4-17 half after three free throws by Luwawu-Cabarrot. Girona’s reaction was immediate with the intensity and points of Juan Fernández and a 12-4 half (16-22). In the second quarter, the Basque team was led by Frisch, who scored half of the team’s points, while Girona scored 25 points with good direction from Needham and being able to run more on the counterattack, to the point of getting ahead before the rival’s triple (41-42).

The second half was the only draw, showing the equality in pace and accuracy that was seen on the court. The biggest difference was Baskonia’s five-point advantage, which the Girona team managed to respond to with a 6-2 half. Baskonia tipped the balance in their favor in a final quarter in which they were much more accurate from the outside line, with four three-pointers out of eight attempts that blew up the score (85-96).
