Direct duel in Murcia

Básquet Girona plays away from home again to recover from the victory against UCAM Múrcia

| Friday, 31 March 2023

The 25th Matchday of the Endesa ACB League will face UCAM Múrcia and Básquet Girona at the Palacio de los Deportes de Múrcia. The two teams arrive with the intention of reversing their bad dynamics of current results and moving away from the relegation zone.

UCAM Múrcia, coached by Sito Alonso, currently occupies 13th position in the table, with a negative balance of 9 wins and 15 losses. The Murcians will play at home after losing to Granada and chaining 6 defeats in the last 7 games. The university club started the season with very good feelings, but with the passage of the days and the load of European matches, Sito Alonso’s team has slowed down.

On the other hand, Básquet Girona will play away from home after the defeat in the Fontajau derby. Aíto García Reneses are currently in 14th place in the standings, with a record of 8 wins and 16 losses. The white-and-red have one win less than the Murcians, who they beat in the first leg in Fontajau by 100 to 89, achieving the highest score so far this season.

The match will be played on Sunday, April 2, at 12:30 p.m. at the Palacio de los Deportes de Murcia. The match can be followed on dial 60 of Movistar Deportes 2.

STATEMENTS

Aíto García Reneses: “Training is going well, but there is also the psychological component. We have to turn this bad streak around and not think so much about winning or losing, but about rebounding, defending and attacking well.”

“It’s a difficult game, Murcia is a very solid team at home. We have to play just as well as we train.”

Roko Prkacin: “In my opinion we have a good preparation, we trained well last week, but unfortunately we lost the game against Manresa. We have to improve shooting percentages because it is key to being able to win games. We also have to work better in defense and have more communication between us»

“I’m in a good moment, but I have a lot of room for improvement, not just me, the whole team.”
