FOTIS KATSIKARIS, NEW BÀSQUET GIRONA COACH

The technician, with extensive experience as a coach in the ACB League, will take over the Girona bench

Fotis Katsikaris (Korydallos, 1967) will be the main coach of Basketball Girona.

At the age of 56, he has extensive experience as a coach in the ACB: from 2006 to 2008 he was coach of Valencia Basket, from 2009 to 2013 he was coach of Bilbao Basket, from 2015 to 2017 he was coach of UCAM Murcia, in the 2017-2018 season he was the coach of Iberostar Tenerife, in the 2019-2020 season he was the coach of Herbalife Gran Canaria and, during the last seasons, he led the bench at Unicaja de Málaga from 2020 to 2022.

He began his career on the bench from 1998-2003 with AEK Athens as an assistant to Ivkovic and Sakota.

He has also been a Russian and Greek national coach and has coaching experience in the Greek, Russian and Israeli leagues.
