Girona Basketball completes the team with the signing of Anna Badosa

Spar Girona | Saturday, 23 August 2025

Badosa will be linked this season to BC Fontajau, a team in the Women’s Catalonia Cup.

Girona, August 23, 2025.- Anna Badosa (Girona; 10/08/2002) is a new player for Spar Girona for the 2025/26 season. The 172 cm and 22-year-old point guard comes from Liberty University, where she played last year in the NCAA Division I.

Trained at GEiEG, Badosa began her career in Girona before moving with her family to Mexico, where she competed with the Jalisco national team and in the semi-professional LIMEBA league with the Estrellas de Jalisco. She later made the leap to the United States, where she completed four seasons at Franklin Pierce University (NCAA Division II), establishing herself as one of the conference’s most outstanding players. Her performance opened the doors to Liberty University (NCAA Division I), where this past year she has played in Conference USA and the prestigious March Madness tournament.

New link agreement with BC Fontajau
Badosa will be linked this season to BC Fontajau, a Copa Catalunya Femenina team, the result of the collaboration agreement between Bàsquet Girona and the Girona club. This link will allow her to combine dynamics and continue her growth within the structure of the new sports project.

With this move, Bàsquet Girona closes the roster of its first women’s team, with Badosa as the twelfth confirmed player.

Statements from Pere Puig, sports director:
“Anna’s arrival is an addition to help us be more competitive, to train and to be a longer team. She is a young player and it will be her first professional experience. She arrives with a lot of hunger, wanting to scratch as many minutes as possible to continue growing as a player.”
