Girona dominated the game for the minimum that, after Juste’s 2+1 (2-5), Leganés managed a 9-0 run to distance themselves (11-5). Mariam’s basket and Bibby’s two consecutive triples tied the game at 13, but again, Driessen’s basket and Sangare’s free throws put the home team ahead by 6 points (19-13). Shortly before the end, Lola converted from mid-range to bring the Girona team closer (19-15).
The Girona team came out to bite in the second quarter, with Carol scoring his chances and Quevedo making a great tackle (19-21). With the local timeout, Jocyte punished again with a triple (19-24), but the baskets in the offensive transitions of Leganés made it 25 to 26, with Íñiguez replicating the timeout. Mariam’s physical dominance under the basket supported Spar, but Driessen’s triple and Togores’ basket put the Madrid team ahead (37-35). Roberto, with 11 seconds left, designed a final play, tying the score at 37 for Klara.
Intense dominance by Dodson in the second half, which put the home team within seven points (47 to 40). That said, Chloe’s two triples and Arica’s free throws brought Spar Girona closer (47-45), but Sangare punished again near the basket (50-47). Shortly before the end of the third quarter, Girona’s team reversed the situation thanks to Carol’s free throws and triple (52-56).
Already in the last quarter, the actions of Carol and Ainhoa near the basket and the triple of Quevedo have differentiated Spar, stopping the Leganés shock (56-61). That said, the ascending line of Quevedo, with a 2+1 but missing the additional, and the stop and shot of Carter have led Innova to request a timeout with 3:53 left in the end (58-65). With Dodson expelled and with a difference on the scoreboard, the offensive responsibility of Bibby has increased the advantage (58-73), Spar finally prevailing by 60 to 74.
