The Girona Basketball senior returns tomorrow, Wednesday  in Fontajau in the middle of the interweekly day. Quim Costa’s team will face Isover Basket Azuqueca (8pm) in what will be the second game in five days. The Girona players will set foot on the Fontajau parquet with the main aim of reversing the bad dynamics in front of their team. His first defeat as a visitor has removed him from the positions of privilege for the first time.

Azuqueca has charted a path similar to that of Girona after climbing to LEB Plata last season. This year, the club management has continued to bet on the work of Sergio Vicente and he is doing well. With a 4-3 record, it is ranked fifth and the second best three-point shooter in the category with 35.4%, only behind Aceitunas Fragata Morón. From last year’s squad, aside from the coach, five players have remained, including the veteran Álvaro Rojas, and six new faces have arrived, of which Ignacio Ballespín stands out, who, despite being twenty years old, was already accumulating two seasons in Plata.

*Quim Costa’s assessment:

“Logically, the objective is to win again but above all to recover the line of play from the beginning of the season that we have lost in these last games”

“Like every team in this category, they have a very physically gifted squad, especially in their interior men, and they are well complemented by players with experience and craft”
