The Club's institutional expedition, led by Stefi Batlle, CEO of Bàsquet Girona, has established ties and opened up new commercial opportunities
The official delegation of Girona Basketball , formed by Stefi Batlle, CEO of the Club, Jesús Escosa, General Manager and Fernando San Emeterio, Sports Director , has attended various institutional events during the team’s stay in China with the aim of ‘strengthen relationships that allow to establish ties and open up new international opportunities.
Qianjiang Century City International Basketball Summit 2024, in Hangzhou (China ) kicked off yesterday, Saturday 31, at 1:30 p.m. (Catalan time) with an opening ceremony in which Stefi Batlle, CEO of Bàsquet Girona and Josep Cubells, director responsible for F. C Barcelona Basketball , participated, which gave way to the match between Zhejiang Lions and Bàsquet Girona, with victory for the Catalans. The Tournament will end tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. (Catalan time) with a match that will pit the two Catalan teams against each other: FC Barcelona – Bàsquet Girona , in the final.
Among the various institutional events, this morning, the Girona delegation with Stefi Batlle, Xus Escosa, Fernando San Emeterio and Fotis Katsikaris met with managers and the coach of the Zhejiang Lions to study together future synergies between both teams. Later, a managers’ lunch was held with the Spanish Ambassador, Eduard Carrasco and Xing Huidong, executive vice president of Zheijiang, and an official reception by a representation of the local authorities. The day’s agenda also included a meeting with Chinese businessmen in order to open new commercial relations.
At the sporting level, the team enjoyed a free morning of training that they took advantage of to adjust the jet lag and visit the city, in the afternoon they went to the pavilion, the spectacular Hangzhou Olympic Center where they trained on an annexed track. Tomorrow the Katsikaris team will hold a training session in the morning to prepare for the final of the tournament against FC Barcelona, which will be played at 1:00 p.m. Catalan time and can be followed on BarçaOne.
