Raimon Carrasco (Barcelona, 1999) left FC Barcelona last summer, once the training stage was completed. There, he became European junior champion in 2015/16 and last season, he would play five games in LEB Or with the subsidiary. Last August, he won the silver medal in the European under-18 with the Spanish team. This year, he combines basketball with his studies in Business Administration and Management (ADE) at the University of Girona. In the image, at Cul de la Lleona, in Girona.

-How are you doing at the club and in the city?

“As for the club, one of the reasons that brought me here is its structure. We have a large coaching staff and other services that no other team in the league has. It is a privilege and should be highly valued. I love the city. It’s quiet, very different from Barcelona.”

-It is the first season in the senior category. What has been the biggest change you’ve noticed?

“Mainly the change is in the physicality that you can find in the senior league and, above all, very experienced players that are in EBA.”

-In what aspects do you think Quim Costa has helped you to progress, base like you?

“Quim has helped me to demand a step more from myself both in defense and in attack. In defense, both communication and intensity are vital, and also the fact of not taking anything for granted. Not giving anything away to the opponent. In attack, to keep a high pace to be able to run more. These are aspects in which it affects and makes me more and more aware of my mistakes and thus be able to correct them.”

-Which characteristic of your game do you need to work on more, and why?

“The physique. In my position, we have to be able to do everything and it’s very important to have a good physique. My coach at the junior stage, Alfred Julbe, always told us in the bases that we had to be triathletes. We used to to be the little ones on the track and we have to be able to run and jump more than the others.”

-How do you see the team, now that the last month of competition is coming?

“We have had some difficult days in which things have not quite gone as smoothly as we want. However, we are a very united team and we are working hard to recover the sensations and rhythm that characterize us, and face the end of the season in the best possible way.”
