Miquel Fuentes remains as assistant coach of the first team

Roger Dehesa joins the coaching staff, strengthening the connection between the youth team and the first team

Miquel Fuentes García (Salt, 1996) will continue for another season as part of the technical team of the Bàsquet Girona first team, a position he has held since the summer of 2019. Before making the jump to the first team, he was assistant coach of the U18 team. Fuentes has maintained close ties with the club since its foundation.

In his first season with the first team, he worked with Àlex Formento, with whom the team achieved promotion from LEB Plata to LEB Or. The following season, he was assistant to Carles Marco in LEB Or. In his third season, he continued with Marco and, later, with Jordi Sargatal, who replaced him. That campaign, Bàsquet Girona achieved promotion to the ACB.

In the fourth season, he was assistant to Aíto García Reneses in a campaign in which the team remained in the category, finishing in fifteenth position with 11 wins. In recent seasons he has been assistant to several coaches: Salva Camps, Fotis Katsikaris and, more recently, Moncho Fernández.

Roger Dehesa Geli (Banyoles, 1995) joins the technical staff of the first team of Bàsquet Girona for the start of this new season, after having joined the working team last October 2024. With an extensive career in the world of Girona basketball, Dehesa has developed coaching tasks in clubs such as CB Banyoles, CE Maristes Girona and GEiEG Uni. His link with Bàsquet Girona begins in the 2021/2022 season, when he joins to manage a pre-mini team.

Since then, he has gone through various training categories —such as mini and junior— and has also been coordinator of the club’s small basket. With this addition, Bàsquet Girona reaffirms its commitment to training and the internal promotion of talent, strengthening the connection between the grassroots work and the first team.
