The Girona Basketball senior will play three games in the next eight days. A demanding section of the calendar that starts tomorrow Saturday at the JAFEP Fundación Globalcaja La Roda track (7 p.m.). The team led by Quim Costa leaves this afternoon for the city of Mancha with the purpose of erasing the bad memory of the last game and consolidating its great trajectory at home. His 3-0 as a visitor allows him to remain among the best in the East group of LEB Plata (fifth with 4-2). The physical problems of some players have motivated that, in the expedition, there are two linked, Eduard Ramos and Joaquín Rosito.  

La Roda made its debut just last season in the category, and it did magnificently. He reached the cup final and was eliminated in the quarterfinals  play-off after finishing second in the regular phase. This year, the blog led once again by Alejandro González did not get off to a good start. He has just won one of the six games played – two days ago, against CB Vic (83-73) – and he does not find consistency in his game. He is the second-fewest point scorer (69.8 with 38.7% on field goals) and the third-most field goal scorer (77.3). In any case, the club already detected these deficits and has made two additions in recent weeks to increase its competitive level. This is the American outside D’Montre Edwards (7 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2 assists in 21 minutes) and, above all, the Swiss pivot winger Michel Nzege, who closed last year in the French NM1 . In two games, he has credited 21.5 points and 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. Like most teams in the LEB Plata, it has not been able to retain last year’s team and, aside from the coach, only José Luis González and José Antonio Blázquez are still there.

“You can see that most teams in LEB Plata have enormous physical potential. We saw it with Almansa, Albacete and now also La Roda, who have very fast players, very powerful and with great jumping ability . In this, they surpass us and we will have to try to counter it with basketball talent”
