A total of five players from the Bàsquet Girona squad were called up last week with their respective national teams: Sergi Martínez and Guillem Ferrando with Spain, and Juan Fernández, Francisco Cáffaro and Juani Marcos with Argentina.

The Spanish national team lost in the first match against Latvia, where they were physically outmatched. However, in the second match, they achieved victory against Belgium, thus securing second place in the EuroBasket qualifying phase.

As for the Argentine players, they secured the first position to qualify for the AmeriCup. The Argentines achieved victory in their visit to Colombia, where Juan Fernández (rated 11) and Juani Marcos (rated 15) had an outstanding performance.
