Pierre Oriola is a new player for Basketball Girona 2022-23

The Targarí pivot winger has experience in the ACB and the Euroleague

Pierre David Oriola Garriga (Tàrrega, 1992) is a new player for Basketball Girona for the 2022-23 season. The Targarí pivot winger (208 cm.) comes from FC Barcelona and has experience in the ACB (317 games) and the Euroleague (142). 

Formed in the lower categories of CN Tàrrega, Lleida Bàsquet and Bàsquet Manresa, Oriola made his debut in the ACB league in the 2009-10 season with the Manresa team when he was 17 years old. The following season would combine Manresa with the linked team of EBA, CE Sant Nicolau. 

He would remain in the Catalan team until 2012, when he would transfer to Força Lleida of LEB Or. The following year he would continue in the category at Club Baloncesto Peñas Huesca (2013-14), from where he would make the leap back to the ACB: Baloncesto Sevilla (2014-16), Valencia Basket Club (2016-17) and FC Barcelona (2017-22). The Targarí player also has experience in European competitions: 142 games in the Euroleague and 39 in the Eurocup.

Oriola has been international with the Spanish national basketball team since 2017. It is added to the arrivals of Dušan Miletić, Aleksandr Bursać, Quino Colom, Pato Garino, Pol Figueras, Roko Prkacin, Kameron Taylor and Ondrej Hanzlik and the continuity of Jaume Sorolla, Josep Franch, Maxi Fjellerup and Èric Vila.

The goal is to have a good season, keep taking steps forward in this project and try to put my grain of sand and my experience at the service of the team.”
