Sander Hollanders (Kerkrade, 13/09/2001) is a new player for Bàsquet Girona for the next two months, with the option to continue until the end of the season. The 1.95-meter-tall guard arrives from Spirou Basket, a team with which he played in the Belgian league and the FIBA Europe Cup.

Hollanders has developed his career between PrismaWorx – Basketball Academie Limburg (BAL) during the seasons from 2017 to 2022, and then signed for Donar Groningen during the 22-23 and 23-24 seasons, a period in which he also played in European competition (FIBA Europe Cup). His last season he played for Spirou Basket in Belgium, where he played in the BNXT League with an average of 9.2 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game. In the European competition he played 12 games with records of 8.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.9 assists.

He has been an international with the Netherlands national team in the U16, U18 and also with the senior team.

Statements by Fernando San Emeterio: “Sander is a player we have been following for a while and, due to some physical problems we are suffering from, we thought it was important to bring him in. He is a player with an upward trajectory in the Belgian and Dutch leagues. Obviously, the jump to the ACB is a big one, but I think his way of playing fits perfectly with what we want to do, as he makes constant efforts, with high intensity, and has a good three-point shot. He has a good physique to play in this league, so we think he is a good help for us.”
