Second Catalan derby in Fontajau

The senior faces the penultimate seed in the Trias debut

The senior of Basketball Girona will step on the Fontajau parquet again ten days after losing by the minimum against Basket Azuqueca. Quim Costa’s team will face Club Bàsquet Vic (7 p.m.) in the second Catalan derby of the season after playing against Hospitalet.

Club Bàsquet Vic, which, in the same way as Girona, went up to LEB Plata last season, is eleventh. It is currently managed by Raul Laita, who replaced Dídac Herrero after he was sacked due to poor results. With the new coach, Vic has won two games and lost two more. The Catalan team has American Kyle Benton-Adiekweh, who promises 15.6 points per game. His contribution has helped to increase the collective offensive game – it is the most effective in the category in field goals (45.2%) – and, at the same time, to correct the poor defensive performance – it is the team that most points received (82.6 per game). Aside from Benton-Adiekweh, the figure of Julià Garrote also stands out, with an average of 16 points per match.

At halftime, tribute will be paid to CPA Olot and CPA Girona for their sporting achievements. During the match, there will be a children’s area for the little ones, entertainment groups will perform and club kits will be raffled.
