Second trip in a row, now to Arenys de Mar

On Saturday, the senior faces La Penya (7:45 p.m.), the only team that has been able to defeat him in Fontajau

Immersed already in the last third of the regular season, the Girona Basketball seniors will visit the Arenys Básquet Joventut court on Saturday (7:45 p.m.) with the aim of regaining victory and solidifying third position in the CA group of EBA league (13-6). It will be the third home game in the last four days for the Girona side.

Neither the stage nor the opponent will be comfortable. César Saura’s team has so far achieved a 7-3 record as a home team and all the defeats have been very tight: against BBA Castelldefels (-4), Club Bàsquet Menorca (-2) and OIC-Penta UB Sant Adrià ( -3). The link with Joventut de Badalona has allowed them to have the most promising young people from the green-and-black squad and who, in addition, carry the offensive weight of the team. This is the case of pivot wings Joel Parra (18.4 points and 6.4 rebounds) and Arnau Parrado (10.9 points and 4 rebounds), both 17 years old, and point guard Pol Molins (11.9 points and 3 ,4 assists) and escort Josep Busquets (12.9 points and 5.4 rebounds), of 19. In fact, they have been the only ones to take the victory from Fontajau this season. They prevailed in the first round by 73-77, despite the 17 points and 11 rebounds of Alfonso Alzamora on the part of Quim Costa. Arenys Básquet Joventut is fifth, with 11-7 and a match still pending.
