SERGI MARTÍNEZ SIGNS FOR GIRONA BASKETBALL

The Rubí player becomes the third signing for next season

Sergi Martínez becomes part of the first team of Básquet Girona after playing there on loan from FC Barcelona. Martínez has concluded his first season offering a good performance on the court and being one of the players most loved by the fans. His signing responds to the club’s desire to create a long-term sporting project.

The Catalan winger (202 cm.) averaged 6.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 9.9 rating in the 31 games he played. His best game was in Gran Canaria where he scored 11 points, 13 rebounds and 26 rating.

Martínez has been international with the Spanish National Team U-16, U-17, U-18, U-20 and absolute. His first call-up with the Spanish national team was in the preparatory matches in June 2021, in preparation for the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He made his debut against Iran and played again days later against the same team.
