SPAR GIRONA DEFEATS TOULOUSE IN THE SECOND MATCH OF THE PRE-SEASON

Spar Girona defeated Toulouse (64–73) this evening in the second friendly of the pre-season, played at the Encamp Sports Centre as part of the 7th Encamp Trophy. Mariam Coulibaly, with 27 points, was the star of the match and guided the Girona team to victory. Tomorrow, September 11, the team will face another trip to Platja d’Aro to face Santfeliuenc.

The match started with maximum equality (16–16 at the end of the first quarter), with San Antonio (7) and Cissé (5) standing out for the French team and Spar Girona focusing their success on the inside game with Coulibaly, Quevedo and Jocytė. Despite the continuity in the exchange of blows, in the second period Coulibaly became the differential factor with 16 points at halftime, allowing the Girona team to go to the locker room with a small advantage (36–40).

In the second half, Spar Girona extended their lead with goals from Coulibaly, Quevedo and Jocytė, who maintained their offensive weight in the third quarter (13–19). Despite Toulouse’s final push, Íñiguez’s team managed to manage the difference and took victory in the 7th Encamp Trophy (64–73).
