Third game in eight days

Basketball Girona will conclude the first competitive week at the Ciutat de Castelló pavilion

The first team will play the third game in the LEB Or in Castelló (17/10, 12:00h) eight days after opening in Azpeitia. The team from Girona will repeat the opponent and the stage of the last pre-season game before the final of the Catalan League LEB Or.  “Óscar Alvarado and Joan Faner are a good starting pair and, whether the team plays for Calvin or Eric, it is in their hands” commented Carles Marco in the preview of the match (watch it in full on Básquet Girona TV ). 

TAU Castelló, who played the same Wednesday in Palencia (80-79), made their home debut with a decisive victory against Huesca (85-62). In these first two games, the team led by Toni Ten, which has in its ranks the ex-Gironi Davis Rozitis, has had two notable protagonists who did not wear the shirt of the Valencian team last season: outsider Calvin Hermansson (45 points in two games) and interior Eric Stutz (43). The direction of Óscar Alvarado, the strength and insistence of Jorge Bilbao and the physical ability of Kai Edwards are other virtues of the group from Castellón.

Last season, the team from Girona achieved an agonizing victory, against a TAU that was ranked first at the time, thanks to a triple by Olaf Schaftenaar and a good inside action by Rozitis himself (82-84).
