Bàsquet Girona started with more energy on the court, which allowed them to have the first advantage of +8 after a triple by Martinas Geben (15-7). However, the Canarian team recovered through the triple, with Wesley Van Beck signing a historic performance by missing only one of the nine triples he attempted. Tenerife took the lead before the end of the first period and started the second better than the Girona team, extending a 4-18 run between one quarter and the other that allowed them to add a +9 after a triple by Joan Sastre. In the final stretch before the break, the team once again controlled the pace of the game with the entry of Ferrando, author of two triples, and becoming strong behind, which allowed them to get back into the game and get within five points (44-49).

In the second half, Moncho’s team played their best half and played Tenerife head-to-head on the court and on the scoreboard in a constant back-and-forth that increased their scoring record to 31 points, with great minutes from Otis Livingston (10 points), the top local scorer of the match. The best of the Girona team was Sergi Martínez with 20 points, 7 rebounds and a rating of 27. In the last quarter, Tenerife managed to be more consistent on both sides of the court, led by Bruno Fitipaldo’s success, and making the triple their main weapon with four successes out of seven attempts that, overall, ended up being 18 of 31 (89-96).
