Jordi Trias was presented yesterday at noon as a new player for Básquet Girona

After it became official the day before yesterday, Basketball Girona presented Jordi Trias yesterday as a new player for the senior team. The pivot from Girona emphasized that his desire to compete remains intact. The new signing spoke about the current situation of the team and the priority of setting short-term challenges to end up meeting the goals at the end of the year. Trias also referred to the special emotion of returning home and the good reception that has generated his arrival in the networks.

The official presentation of Jordi Trias as a new member of the Girona Basketball first team took place in the Fontajau press room. The player from Girona began by explaining the main reasons that have led him to decide on this path. “Priorities change over time and I was not excited to start a new project far from home”, he commented. He also revealed that the intervention of the president of the club, Marc Gasol, was key in the resolution of his signing by the Girona entity.

The pivot also assessed his new team and what function it can represent within the group. “I think I can be an important piece on and off the court because it’s a young squad with things to polish.” Trias discussed the team’s current situation after four consecutive defeats, seeing it as capable of overcoming this adverse dynamic. For this reason, he pointed out the priority of setting small goals in order to achieve bigger ones. Finally, the new signing vindicated the youth of the team and the different traits that they can bring to their more mature profile.

At the end of the presentation, Trias also had a few words of thanks for the good reception that has generated his arrival in the city where he was born. The center from Girona remarked that he faces this new challenge with the utmost enthusiasm and ambition to contribute to the project and its objectives.

They have different concerns, different points of view… all wrapped up in healthy competitive excitement. I will try to imbue myself with this feeling and these new ways of being and doing that can complete me as a player”
