Zero Waste Goal

Estrella Damm and Básquet Girona will give away more than 5,000 reusable glasses to reduce the environmental footprint as much as possible

Básquet Girona continues with its firm commitment to generate the minimum possible impact on the generation of waste on match days. From matchday 22, the club and the Girona City Council enable bicycle parking in every match the team plays in Fontajau. With this action it is calculated that the CO₂ footprint can be reduced considerably.

Now, the club, with the collaboration of Estrella Damm, wants to take another step towards sustainability goals in the pavilion: in the next match, against Lenovo Tenerife, more than 5,000 reusable glasses will be given away. The main goal of the initiative is to get fans to come to the games with their own glass and, in this way, to greatly reduce the generation of waste in Fontajau. Fans who were unable to attend the match and do not have their copy, will be able to obtain it for a price of 1 euro.

Among other initiatives, for several seasons no paper has been used in the offices or in ticket sales, the vehicles used by its employees are electric or hybrid, and plastic has been removed from the bar during the parties

From the club we encourage all supporters to follow our principles and to act accordingly with climate change.
